HNH Partners appoints new Head of Northern Ireland

Corporate finance leader Rodney McCaughey appointed to senior role

1st July 2026: Corporate finance advisory firm HNH Partners has confirmed Rodney McCaughey as its new Head of Northern Ireland.

Rodney, who joined HNH in 2018, brings more than 25 years of experience in corporate finance and transaction advisory.

He will lead HNH’s Belfast-based team as the company builds on a record year that cemented its Top 10 position within the Experian M&A league tables and saw it named Corporate Finance Advisory Firm of the Year at the Insider NI Dealmakers Awards.

Rodney has a solid track record of providing market-leading advice to corporate and private equity clients in the UK, Ireland and internationally.

Specialising in financial due diligence, he has extensive experience supporting businesses and investors through acquisitions, disposals, refinancing and wider strategic growth initiatives. He has worked across a broad range of sectors, delivering buyside, sell-side and refinancing assignments for both entrepreneurial and multinational clients.

Consistently demonstrating strong leadership, deep technical knowledge and 100 per cent commitment to delivering outstanding outcomes for clients and the HNH Team, Rodney has been an integral part of the firm’s growth and success in recent years. His leadership will be instrumental as HNH continues to scale.

Commenting on his appointment, Rodney McCaughey said:

“HNH Partners has built an exceptional reputation for delivering high quality advice and achieving strong outcomes for clients across a wide range of sectors and transaction types.

“Since joining the firm, I’ve seen first-hand our team’s strength and skills, the ambition of the business and the quality of relationships developed with clients and intermediaries across the market.

“I’m delighted to take on this new role at such an exciting stage in HNH’s growth journey and I look forward to continuing to support clients as they navigate increasingly complex and strategic transactions.”

As Head of Northern Ireland, Rodney will work closely with HNH’s senior leadership team to support the continued growth of the business, deepen client relationships and further strengthen the firm’s market-leading advisory offering.

HNH Partners has continued to experience strong momentum across both its Belfast and Edinburgh offices, advising on a growing number of high-profile transactions involving founder-led businesses, private equity-backed companies, listed corporates and international acquirers.

Welcoming Rodney’s appointment, Wayne Horwood, Founder and Managing Partner of HNH Partners, added:

“Rodney has played a pivotal role in our continued growth and success and this important, strategic appointment recognises both his leadership capabilities and the significant expertise he brings to the firm.

“He is highly respected and has built an outstanding reputation advising clients on complex transactions across many jurisdictions.

“As we continue to grow our geographical presence and capabilities, Rodney’s leadership will be instrumental in driving the next phase of HNH’s development.”
